  • The Irish Planning Institute’s National Planning Conference 2014 is to take place in Limerick in the Strand Hotel, on the 10th and 11th April 2014. The conference is entitled ’50 Years of Planning: Time to lead changed and plan for growth’. The conference aims to facilitate discussion around changing role of planning and will reflect on the past 50 years of planning since the commencement of the Republic’s 1963 Local Government (Planning & Development) Act, while also looking forward to the future of planning and the profession in Ireland and abroad.

  • The 2013 Irish Planning Conference venue is Belfast City Hall.  The conference is titled ‘Achieving Competitiveness & Promoting Innovation – The Future Role of Planning’. The conference aims to facilitate discussion around the changing role of planning particularly having regard to Local Government Reform in the south and Planning Reform in the north. It runs from 25th – 26th April 2013

  • Dr. Aine Ryall has organised a conference entitled ‘Enforcing European Union Environmental Law’ on  Friday, 23 November 2012 at 2 – 6pm.  The conference will be held at UCC Brookfield Health Science Complex Lecture Theatre G01 and deals with the ongoing tensions between international, European Union (EU) and national environmental law.

  • The Irish Planning Institute’s Autumn conference is entitled ‘Unlocking Town Centre Potential: New Developments in Retail Planning and Town Centre Management’.  The conference will take place on the 5th October 2012 in the Gibson Hotel, Point Village Dublin 1.  A range of speakers are booked for the event and it is open to non-members.

    The conference will focus on the impact of the recession on town centres and how this can be addressed.
